Small businesses such as independent retailers are increasingly seeking more up-to-date CCTV systems to better protect their premises, according to new research.
The research, commissioned by network video specialist Axis Communications, found that 82 per cent of small businesses are considering new technology so that they can benefit from the more advanced features available.
Higher quality images, improved ease of use, and the ability to access CCTV footage from smart phones were all important to business owners, found the study.
“Pioneering technology and the benefits that come with it shouldn’t be limited to corporate entities,” says Axis Communications regional director Atul Rajput. “The network camera is becoming more accessible and affordable for the small business than ever before… as legacy video surveillance solutions become obsolete, we are witnessing a shift in the way small businesses adopt new solutions.”
