Consumers conflicted over globalisation finds survey

Consumers have conflicting views of globalisation and its impact, according to new research from Toluna.

More than half of participants in the survey (51 per cent) believe that globalisation has increased their access to products,  but only 40 per cent this may have had a negative impact on independent shops and businesses; 53 per cent believe the economy is more global than it was five years ago, but only 47 per cent believe this has effected them personally.

Brexit has changed sentiments about globalisation, according to 70 per cent of those who took part. Some 43 per cent believe globalisation has had a positive impact, with 30 per cent feeling it has been negative and 27 per cent undecided.
