Digital technology mixed with origami for Shiseido installation

Skincare brand Shiseido has installed an interactive kiosk in the T Galleria by DFS, in Hawaii. Retail design and production agency Bloommiami created the unit and handled project management for the activity, it first project in the state, after being commissioned by Shiseido Travel Retail Americas .

The installation showcases products exclusive to the location, including ranges that prevent signs of aging, and shares beauty techniques derived from the brand’s Japanese heritage through an interactive digital photo booth.

Origami butterflies are suspended above the installation. A printer allows customers to personalise and share their own butterflies, including sharing mini movies on social media. “The use of origami is also a first for us and it’s certainly a clever way for SHISEIDO to engage consumers in a very tactile, very human manner,” said Bloommiami partner Darin Held. “They are creating memorable, sharable experiences that go beyond the initial engagement point.”
