Fashion and lifestyle store 18 Montrose will be the first retailer to open in the Coal Drops Yard development in London’s King’s Cross. Stores in the development are housed in railway arches.
The store, which has existing branches in Glasgow and Nottingham, will open on Stable Street in June. It will feature an experience ‘somewhere between the physical and the digital’ that offers fashion ranges and lifestyle accessories. Design is by Present Agency, a subsidiary of Four Marketing.
Housed in a 500 sq m space the 18 Montrose format combines a gallery, showroom and shop, with large format screens displaying content and product information in a bid to connect the physical and online worlds. The layout also allows for catwalk shows, product launch events and musical performances.
A 10m long ‘sneaker wall’ will display a constantly changing range; the store will stock fashion brands including Stone Island, Common Projects and Maison Margiela.
