Wellbourne Brasserie prepares for opening

4th April 2018

Chefs Ross Gibbens and Michael Kennedy – who have extensive experience in acclaimed UK restaurants – are opening a new restaurant later this month in London’s White City Place.

Wellbourne Brasserie will offer an all-day dining menu which it says will be simple, restrained and affordable. Interiors have been created by Simple Simon Design, with a brief to reflect the elegance and simplicity of the menu.

Grid structures inspired by the art of Mondrian will feature stainless steel accents, offset by terrazzo and concrete flooring.

Seating has been inspired by French restaurants, while a curved steel bar is set below a petrol blue gantry that highlights the restaurant’s wine collection. A private dining area features dusty pink walls, velvet seats and retro lighting.

“Our modern British brasserie offers an affordable and unique style of all day dining. It is refined and restrained but with a real focus on quality,” says head chef Ross Gibbens. “We also have a great wine and cocktail list and our south facing Terrace will be the perfect spot for alfresco dining and drinking.”

“Minimal lighting and clean lines in the steelwork create a look and feel to the restaurant that reflects the elegance and simplicity of the food served. Contrastingly, these elements are complemented by the rusticity of the concrete flooring, textured wall tiles and oak furniture - creating warmth and a welcoming feel to the interior,” says designer Elly Deakin of Simple Simon Design.

Wellbourne Brasserie is the latest opening from the Wellbourne Group. Last year Wellbourne Clifton, an informal neighbourhood restaurant in Bristol, opened its doors followed by Wellbourne Salardu, a seasonal fine dining and après ski restaurant in the Spanish Pyrenees.
