Sensape wins the Innovation Awards at Retail Digital Signage Expo 2017

The Retail Design Expo and Retail Digital Signage Expo Innovation Trail and Awards, sponsored by 20.20, has been won by Sensape, for its Sensape Visual Retail Solution.

The system combines digital signage with powerful artificial intelligence and augmented reality, creating a digital signage network that can adapt its output to suit each viewer individually.

20.20 business development director Mariann Wenckheim that the competition links directly to the kind of work it undertakes for retailers. “We really care about innovation and change… and our role is to help retailers implement the kind of changes they need to make, and we love collaborating with people to have new ideas,” she says.

Sensape co-founder Justus Nagel says the company’s product is evolving, adding more element to its modular system. “Brand and retailers both like the functionality it offers, but they don’t both need all of the features it offers… making it modular allows them to offer a personalised shopping experience.”

“The winner really stood out for its multifunctional capabilities, that allow it to tailor content and collect a huge amount of data,” says 20.20 managing director Jim Thompson.

Exhibitors at the co-located events submitted entries which were reviewed by an independent judging panel of experts which included: Arcadia Group head of design Guy Smith, B&Q head of retail design Alan Taylor, Red or Dead creative director Katie Greenyer, and Pets at Home head of merchandising and retail marketing Gareth Roberts.

The entries that have been shortlisted are being featured in the Innovation Trail at Retail Design Expo and Retail Digital Signage Expo, and are highlighted on the ‘Winners Wall’ at the events.
